OSS Escape Knife Confirmation

Hey everyone, I picked this up the other day for $25. I recognized it from my book, Pk of the US Military. It has no markings, about 85% blue & looks like never used. I've done some research and am wondering if it is as valuable as I think. I've attached some screen shots of what I found. Any info appreciated. Thanks!

Anybody have one of these in AAPK land? Really I'm just curious if this ridiculous auction price I found is right or way off. I also understand that there are 2 makers...was wondering if anyone knows how to tell the difference? Thanks!

Knife World Vol.40 No.9 September 2014 had an article about the M19 Escape Knife. It states that Joseph Rodgers & sons and George Ibberson & Co. were the two makers. It's nearly impossible to tell who made what because they were not marked for security reasons during WW2. There are some that are marked but they would have been made before or after the war.

Any suggestions on how I should remove rust spots without screwing up the blue? Tks

I was hoping someone would chime in with info on this tool knife but here is my story. I got one by Rodgers in a collection 4 or 5 years ago. Not a mint knife but surely OK. Truth is, so help me, I had no idea about the knife as to value or collectibility. Thank goodness none of my collecting buddies made me an offer on it as I would have likely sold it thinking I was getting a good price.
I put it on eBay and in the 1st few days it went to about $800 and just sat there. I consoled my self thinking that was sure an ok price when I had no expectations as to value.
As time neared for the end of the auction the snipers hit. When time expired I hit the refresh button and so help me, I threw my arms out and fell back in my chair calling for my bride to come here and look at this. Final price was over $1700. I was astounded. Even Bernard Levine made a snide remark.
So, I guess my point is that the tool knife you have will most likely bring semi-serious money. Not sure how the lack of maker info will affect it, maybe not at all.

The description was in a book I have, Pocket Knives of the U.S. Military. When I saw the knife I recognized it from the book but had no idea the value.
