buying a "steady" or an anvil
buying a "steady" or an anvil
hi folks, first post. i have spent 5-6 hours on google, ebay etc. and i noticed the post below where the fellow had a steady for sale, but, is there some place that sells something that will work as a steady for a person that is just getting back in to working/playing w/ folding knives? any help would be apprediated................b
Easy Rest
Here are a couple pictures of an easy rest I recently aquired. We just moved, so I didn't get these posted earlier.
This is made in 3 pieces so the top piece could become a traditional anvil just by making new top pieces to suit your needs and by bolting the bottom piece to a bench. The whole thing is held together by 2 allen head cap screws that are accessed from the bottom.
There are no patent numbers, nothing. So that means I can make some measurements and someone could build these, as well as to design a couple different top pieces to a more versitle shop tool.

hey hukk, just an alternate set of plans, could be made in sections and welded together to save money. not that much machining required and could be altered to fit individual requirements.
