For Sale or Trade: 92 Winchester Abalone Coffin Jack

Post by Elvis »

I bought this one new and am pretty sure I still have the box for it. This Winchester Coffin Jack was produced by Blue Grass Cutlery during the timeframe the Case Classics were being made. It had Goldstone celluloid scales that hadn't started to show any signs of gassing yet, so I thought I'd beat it to the punch and put abalone scales on it. They are both glued and pinned. The knife has never been carried or used. I'm asking $160 or a trade for a Whittler of similar value. (Note: These pictures allowed me to see some scratches in the handles that have since been removed).

Beautiful knife Bob - as you know the only abalone that I own is the heirloom Excelsior jack that you saved for me and that I carry and use with great regularity. Your work is second to none - I'm sure this coffin jack won't last long. Tom

Thanks for the vote of confidence Tom, but I'm afraid there may not be enough folks on here that know me as well as you do, so I may not get the responses you might think. Between the knife and abalone, I'm asking roughly what I have in the knife plus enough to ship it, but since I attend a couple of Case Events every year I expect it will go there quite easily.

Still looking for whittlers though. Some things never change. ::tu::
