Restoring a MK. II Fighting Knife

Post by cody6268 »

A couple years ago, I found a WWII era Mk. II fighting knife.laying outside an old shed It was in awful condition, hemp baler twine had replaced the handle leather, it was VERY rusty, the tip had broken off the blade, and half the guard had been broken off.

Since, for all I know, it could have seen action in WWII, I want to restore it. It's been put up for years, so I've forgotten who made it, and I can't remember where I found it. I think it was made by Ontario.

KA-BAR still makes it, so if I asked would they be willing to sell or give me the parts I need?

How the heck would I re-apply the bluing?
