Gotcha. I have a smaller metal handled Spyderco and it's not a knife that I can warm up to either because of the wieght and the slippery handles.

It's a great little knife but quite honestly, I keep forgetting that I have it.philco wrote:Ken that's a nice looking trio. Do you find the little neck knife useful ?
However, the single blade Boker worked well on an Outback steak Wednesday evening.

I never have lost knives before, then all of a sudden I've lost my long time Benchmade and Kershaw EDCs one after the other.... Both are long term probably not gonna find it lost.
Alas, I walked to the park the other day and this USA Schrade was sitting there abandoned on a bench coated in rust. I took it home, cleaned it up, and have my new EDC!

Frankencryo which has already helped repair an electric item.
And this Boker which is beginning to rust freckle.

Dave, I sure like your new Böker! Everytime I see it, more and more I want to add a Böker with the Federal Shield to my collection. OH

I don't know that it's a Federal shield. It's that shape with a tree in it.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
Carried this one home in my pocket from the SLO swap meet today1960's-70's Cratfsman USA 9470 4" Stockman. Very good condition, pristine handles, some staining, but no pits; obviously carbon blades.
Also had a vintage Buck 311 Slimline Trapper in a sheath on my belt today. It is right up there as one of my favorite EDC's, and as close to being my all-time favorite knife as any of my knives can get. And a shout out to junebug, ask Visalia if it misses me? I just can't seem to miss anything about Visalia but the friends I left behind 20 years ago, (grew up cruisin' Mooney Blvd; 1971 Mt. Whitney alum). Naw, just kidding, Visalia has it's charms, but I can see the ocean from my front door now, the SJ Valley just can't compete with that.

Yup, I agree, thanks!garddogg56 wrote:nice pair BayI have a 9470 great user
I'm not normally a Stockman fan, but this one is rather trim and in good condition, and I love the jig on the handle, so I'll just put it into my EDC rotation and start using it. I did some research, and still can't determine exactly who made these for Sears. The master blade has a swage on one side only, so that should help identify it, but it could be Schrade, Camillus, Utica, or?? It also has match strike grooves on the nail nic of the master, that could help identify the maker too. I saw a photo of the very same knife here on AAPK somewhere. It was still on it's hanging cardboard display card from Sears. It had a price tag of $1.99 or something still on it, so that places this knife firmly in the 60's-70's era. If we had only known back then huh? After looking closely at the handles I'm pretty sure they are Delrin, not bone. They have a slight "haze" to them, like old(er) Bucks get on their Delrin handles, so that pretty much rules out bone. They were just not making that many bone handled knives at that time anyway, especially to be sold at Sears, or it would have been way more expensive than a buck ninety nine, even back then.

It's an okay knife but they have a reputation for a weak snap, and mine lives up to the rep.bcleather wrote:Nice knives everyone. I like all of em on this page, especially the case 6235 1/2 and the redbone tear drop jack.
