SChrade 156OT
I did this a couple months ago and never posted it. I found this 156OT at a flea market in a box of junk, rusty with no sheath and the edge worn completely straight. My first thought was "someone got their moneys worth" my second thought was "this is going to be a pelting knife". I asked how much he said $8, I said $5, he said sold! There was very little reprofiling done to the blade once I got it to make it the perfect shape for a pelting knife, but I did have to rebevel the entire blade because it was extremely thick. This little knife will see it's share of fur in the shed this winter. It still needs a sheath which I think I can stitch one up without too much risk to my health this summer. I was going to rehandle it but never did, there may be some guard modification done to it later on after I have a chance to actually use it to allow more finger room because the handle is a little shorter than what I like.

That looks like it would be a very efficient cutter and scraper.
Nice save!

I think I have an extra sheath that would work for that knife unless you are set on making one for it yourself.
(no chg of course).

Re: SChrade 156OT
Dale, I'm not sure if an original sheath would be a good fit now that the blade is this shape but I'll sure try it. That would save me an hour or so of leather work if it does, if not I'll send it back. Thanks!
