ebay prices

titled this ebay prices, but I guess the prices are only what folks will pay and the market will bear.. heres is an example I found.

I happen to be lucky enough to have this knife (15 boys knife, canvas micarta with cap lifter) I paid 80 bucks or so for it. some dude just paid 305 dollars for one on ebay!!!I do realize this is a very short run knife. but , wow. would you sell yours for 300 bucks? tempting indeed. mine is for sale for 900.00 dollars! what the hell why not try.
all tongue in cheek , im keeping my knives, but have any of you ever been tempted by anothers stupidity?

Just the old axiom:A knife is worth what the buyer is willing to pay for it and what the seller is willing to let it go for. I was checking out an Eloi Pernet multiblade that has had it's price REDUCED to $456 and change! I have one identical to it and when I bought it(albeit awhile ago)I didn't pay one tenth of his asking price. It is a nice and well made knife but not for the price of a very good custom made knife.Just my opinion folks.

I've noticed that a lot of knives that I'm interested in have become very expensive on eBay and elsewhere. It's a double-edged sword, on one hand it's great to see knives that you already have rise in value (or perceived value), but it also means that you have to pay much more to add to your collection.

Yep, it looks to me like those days of buying nice bone handled WWII era knives for $10-$20 is gone. It's been a while since one of those knives demanded that I buy it. What's left seems to be mostly crap with broken handles and blades and worn out blades
