Hello from GA
Hey everyone doing the noob thing and introducing myself. Been into knives since I was a young boy, did the boy scout thing and my family was avid outdoors, hunting, fishing and whatnot. I'm military so I use knives almost daily for tasks and I'm never without a pocket knife. Grew up with Swiss Army knives but the Army introduced me to Benchmade so I am a huge fan and have recently started collecting old knifes from 1950s or before. Found the site on accident from a google search of Imperial tang markings trying to date a knife and was very happy with what I've found.
I'm currently stationed in Georgia, USA and am actually in the works of learning as much as I can about all knives and opening a store online doing used knives. I retire in 2 years and plan on making a physical store and carrying new and used kinda like a pawn shop for knives and some outdoor stuff. I hope to learn and contribute as much as I can here.
Thanks for putting together such a great community.

Re: Hello from GA
I know but you're E-7 and wear the stripes. I was stationed at Ft. Bliss TX back in '64 going to HAWK CW Radar School. We had an SFC in our class, nice guy and I called him Gunny as sort of a joke but with respect. He never chastised me for that. If it offends you please don't hesitate to tell me.WolfSpring wrote:I'm Army though, not marine lol.jerryd6818 wrote:Thanks. There ya go. I (and most of the Marines I know) have a lot of respect for the ranks of Gunnery Sergeant, First Sergeant and Sergeant Major. They're the ones who actually run the Corps.
