Newest Case Pick-Ups

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Can't compete with the beauties y'all have snagged but this one came yesterday. She's a homely gal, the kind that gets taken home at closing time but she fits in with my recent medium jack obsession.

She's a 2000 22087 with a missing shield that's been very lightly carried (micro carry scratches on the handles & factory grind on the blades with evidence of some cutting) . I sent an email to Case yesterday inquiring about getting the shield replaced.

It will look some better once it gets a shield. Does anyone know if this pattern was made with bone handles? Gosh, I can't imagine it not being.

Nice knife and pattern JerryD!

Yes, made in bone, stag, delrin, white and black comp in at least the pre 80' knives. Same on the 3 blade Stockmans are far as handles offered and years. Lots of the 3 blade knives had pen secondary also.

I agree 100%, Josh. All the other brands I have like this the pen blade is in front. Much more handy that way. As for pinning the shield, ain't gonna happen. Costs more money ya know.

I know some of the older Case knives put the pen in front. Sometimes on a seemingly random basis. Take this Barlow for example....
20150409_113411.jpg
it even has the nick on the main down towards the tip to make it easier to access.

I have another barlow from the same era with the pen in the front as well. I know you guys are talking about jacks....but a barlow is a type of jack technically!

Yes sir, that's the way it should be done. I wonder what they were thinking when they put the secondary in the back.
