Is this switchblade bogus or real?

Post by Mossdancer »

It's 8" open. A typical stiletto type from 50's and earlier. The only marking is HORSTER over ROSTFREI. I can find nothing about this knife. There is an EF Horster who has been making mostly military knives since the mid 1800's. Any help on this one will be greatly appreciated. A person would be left to believe that it is German with the marking. If so it must have been made in country and brought over here by owner. If needed I will take photo in natural light today and post. Had to set that little rem. under bolster to hold it up on scanner

Looks good to me. Rostfrei is a German word for stainless. Thats all I can come up with right now.

REMCO and JONET:
Thanks, it looks fine to me also but it is really disconcerting when the reading of the knife leads you to nothing. I am beginning if it is actually an EF HORSTER knife if there is a tie to the german military. I have searched for a full day with nothing to substanciate that thought. It sure would be a find if it were true. I will continue looking for a couple more days.
