Hi Grant, I was told the first 8OT came out in 1959-60.Shearer wrote:
The first of the Old timer 8OT came out in 1961 with bone handles and there's not a lot of them around .I would say that Schrade started to use delrin on 8OT's in late 1962 or early 1963
The Ulster Old Timer 10OT was first made 1964 and it had a delrin handles.
This just gives a bit of time line when Schrade started using delrin.

I have quite a collection of 8OTs, and have always wondered about the first 10 years of the 8OTs.
One thing in the back of my mind is, who made the "match-strike pull blades" - Schrade did not use that pull on their later knives.
Camillus used it from time to time, do you think they could have made the early 8OT blades?
Jerry, I love that knife.
Last time you posted one of your knives, it cost me time and money looking for one - I ended up with a collection of those 72s ... Ken.
