Today it's another XX era 6375 and a 1978 31048 farmer's trapper. Two of my favorites.

Wow Royal, Wade - look at all those vintage Case Knives - Nice! I'm carrying Case and Buck today - was out scouting for opening day of turkey season early this morning - keep the 6347 in my pocket and I like having the Buck for woods carry in a belt sheath. OH

Older stag handled German Eye, no Schlieper mark. I first stumbled on one of these in 1978 when I needed a carrier right then. It turned to be the finest knife I have ever used in terms of sharpening almost effortlessly, yet staying razor sharp. Strong springs, rustless, excellent workmanship. I carried it for probably 25 years. When I wanted to replace it, I tried a sturdy Schrade locker, a Puma, a few others. I also got a little Schlieper canoe and carried it for maybe 3 years. But it just doesn't have the same quality steel.
I finally grabbed this one, almost exactly like my first Eye in excellent used condition off EBay, maybe $70. I have an old, ugly, flat stag, 2 blade, carbon Kissing Crane as a trusty backup.

AMH, Welcome
I agree on the fine steel in those older eyes.
That is a nice lockback with some sweet stag!

Amh, real nice ol eye. I'm a fan of them.

Today this old, well worn but tight and snappy Case XX 6375 that my wife bought from olderdogs1 and surprised me with. I have nicer ones to look at, so today I put my edc grind on it and I'm putting the old war horse back in service!

Wade, that knife has seen some serious pocket time. Bone looks worn smooth in the pic. Real beauty with still alot of life left in her for sure.

Thanks Jerry. Yes it's been packed a whole bunch. But the blades aren't near as worn add the bone. This was somebody's favorite know for sure.

My pa's 6375 scales were worn down like this when he passed. But the blades were a lot more used up too. These old XX 6375's were real work horses. I doubt I'll wear this one out. We don't work men or knives like we used to.

Thanks Wade. Same one I pulled from collection this weekend. Tried to get a better pic but did not turn out well.

Just curious, am I an oddball that I carry an 11-1/2L Swing Guard as a secondary carry? Don't see any other posts where members are carrying swing guards, CASE or otherwise.
The old CASE catalogs show this pattern as a Hunting knife. My personal favorite pattern but not for everyone.

Just curious. Jerry

I've never owned a swing guard anything. I don't see any around here really. I sure can see the wisdom in them. I'd pack one. I'll have to put one on the list.

On another note. As I persue more Case knives, I run up on lots of 75's and earlier, lots of 77-79. Where are all the 76's? I'm a 76 model myself, and have been looking for some examples of some of my favorite patterns from 76. Very few seem to show up. What's up with that?
