Need help Old Blish Mize and Silliman

Recently while at my dad's house he pulled out a box of old pocket knifes. I was sorting through them looking them up on ebay and other various websites just out of curiosity so I could start collecting when I ran across this Blish Mize and Silliman. I have searched all over on forums and old sale ads to try to find this model and I can't seem to find another one like it. It is a really neat knife and I want to male a fair offer to buy it and know nothing of it. Any help on age or value would greatly appreciated.

You can do a search for "Cattaraugus dogbone" to see similar knives.

I don't think that Cattaraugus made this knife, it appears to be foreign made, however, you can look at the style.

Blish Mize Silliman was a hardware store and didn't manufacture their own knives, this one appears to be imported.

Hopefully, someone more knowledgeable may have an example of this exact knife and be along to enlighten us further.

A lot of BMS knives were made by Utica, at least that is my judgment call based on the examples that I have owned and observed, based on the tooling and handle materials.

The posted knife is a stunning and unusual pattern. I have never seen another quite like it.

My guess would still be Utica as Utica in the 1920s and earlier made a lot of interesting and unusual patterns, and some of the tooling like the blade shape and nail pull to me suggests Utica.

jb, neat old knife. BM&S had some neat knives made for them. Usually hard to nail down by who.

It looks like it might be a copy of or inspired by a traditional Hungarian clasp knife. Here's a single blade Hungarian knife I have. Great find!

This pattern knife has, I think, been discussed on AAPK in the past.

I, myself, posted a photo gleaned from the internet.

Somehow, "Jaeger" comes to mind re' previous discussions.

I cannot find the thread or a relevant discussion within a less specific thread.

I just did a rather exhaustive Google Image search using every combination of keywords I could think of, to no avail. Even the knife just shown above did not come up.

Even "Hungarian Clasp Knife" produced no identically patterned results.

I think that means one of two things:

Either the pattern is exceedingly rare by any manufacturer or.....

I haven't come up with the right keyword combination to produce a positive Google image match.

Maybe Dimitri can find the relevant thread. He usually can do so.

Addendum: I found these two photos on BladeForums where I had posted them. I might have taken the photos from a thread on AAPK or I might have snipped them off the internet somewhere, I do not remember. If these belong to an AAPK member, please claim them and take ownership of the photographs.

Note the "Dog Bone" jack in the photo is a single blade knife and has celluloid handles.

All the knives in the two photographs are Cattaraugus.

Just about every Blish, Mize & Silliman pocketknife I have ever seen had celluloid handles.
