Some help please

Post by dkonopinski »

I've an old single blade folder by Lockwood Brothers of Sheffield. The handle is brass and is marked

COLD FINGER
kNIFE
REGd.No.6411S

Can anyone throw any light on this marking, please?

Cheers

There is a C & X LOCKWOOD BROS. SHEFFIELD listed in Goins as operating from 1849 to present. 'Present' in this case would be about 1998. Their logo was a running osterich and also a C + X, with an additional plus mark above the one I typed in. I can't give you any additional info about the registration number and such. Maybe someone else will weigh in on that.
