Case Tested Toothpick

Yet another fake Case Tested knife for sale on eBay. Knife is supposed to be a Case Tested 61093, 5" closed green bone toothpick. The seller has several other good looking knives and may not be aware that this knife is a counterfeit.

The question has come up on AAPK about pin placement being a factor in determining if a knife is genuine or not and some have discounted this as a way of authenticating a knife. Looking at this knife I can tell you that Case or nearly any other old U.S. manufacturer would never have made a knife like this with the handle pins placed so far from the bolsters.

Although this is one of the better fakes it is still far from correct. Pin placement, jigging, nail nick location are all wrong. Looks new because it is new.

Wow it sold for US $193.50, would hate to find out it was counterfeit after paying that much.
