LF&C restoration
This is an LF&C jack that needed a bit of work.
The black composition handles were shrinking and the mark side liner was bent inside. The whole thing was a bit loose but was all steel except for the handles.
I took it apart and cleaned it and straightened the liner and polished the inside of the spring. The liners were so scratched inside there was no polishing them, but I cleaned them up.
I installed mammoth ivory handles the customer sent to me. He wanted both handles out of one piece if possible, but the piece was barely large enough to get two handles out of it. So I had to do some close cuts and include some checking and a crack that I was able to stabilize with several light applications of Zap-A-Gap thin CA adhesive. As it turned out the rocker pin hole was above the crack so I felt much better about it.
This little jack has a half stop and snaps like a bear trap!
I hope you enjoy the pics, though the pics of the knife closed are a pit washed out by the sunlight.

Nice outcome Dale! Working around cracks has to be somewhat tedious.

That's a fine looking "Sunday Go To Meeting Knife" now. Well done.

That mammoth is nice, and I bet that will ride nice and slim in the pocket.
Great work as usual, Dale!
