Swapped out the Colt for the Kabar today, and kept the Case.

Carried this Steel Warrior today while I was out in my kayak. I had a small machete too, but it is still in my work truck.

Thanks - I like the pattern, though of course it is a China knife. The turtle - I just happened to notice him floating on the creek where I was working, so I picked him for a quick photo, then back into the creek!

Rehandled (not by me) 73' 6283 Whittler with Micarta handles. With the otherwise near mint knife, don't understand the rehandle but I like the unique knife.

I like that knife too. A good carry knife since you do not have to be concerned about dropping it and chipping the covers: someone already covered that!

Gino my friend, thanks. Almost always carry two, seldom three but rarely one. Lets just say I wanted a decent knife but only want to risk one with travel, possible jail and customs where I just visited. Seems a smaller knife is less ominus. Would love to have had my XX 6165 Hunter and a swing guard though. But I like this little splitback. If I were elsewhere, be a different story.

Thanks Dan. Pretty Micarta for sure. Just wonder why someone would do that. Maybe they just wanted one. Never seen one like it, that is for sure.

I like the Grip a lot Dog... It opens up nice and smooth and locks into open position with authority... solid as Sears once it's locked up, and the 154cm steel holds an edge real nice, sharpens up easy too. I got the orange one because I carry it in the woods, and it's easy to find if I set it down. If I'm going for a quick trek and don't have a fixed blade on my belt, I'll clip on the big Grip and know that I have plenty of knife to get done whatever I may need done. ::tu::

Great looking knives Mike! I love those 75 pattern Cases, ::tu:: .

I've been a eyeing those full size grips too. I played around with one in the store the other day. Sure was smooth.

Full size Grip is a handfull. And kinda hollow feeling. And not easy to get past when clipped in a pocket.

I've always thought I'd like a small Grip.

The ZT0566BW is big but thin enough not to take up so much pocket.
And I cut open a grapefruit with the GEC85 and it put a neat pattern on the blade!
Pic(s) tomorrow I think.
Looking for the magic penny!

Mornin' Dave, I agree that the full size Grip is a handful, but for my purposes using it as a woods knife that is a bonus. Hands are often really cold, wet, or I may have gloves on, which makes a more robust handle a positive. It does feel a little bit hollow, I know what you mean there, but I think that helps to keep the weight down, and it is certainly plenty strong, that handle is in no danger of breaking that is for sure. The grippiness of it adds to it's function in the outdoors as well, for the same reasons I mentioned above. And yes, it is a might tough to get past while clipped to the pocket, but that is the trade off for it's robust-ness. So while it may be a bit too much knife for edc around town, I find it to be just about ideal as a nice strong outdoors knife.
I have a mini grip as well, and that is a fine knife too. For around town carry it is much more practical and far less noticeable in the pocket. However it's smaller nature makes it harder to use with cold, wet, or gloved hands. Just depends on your needs!
((sorry for the ramble, I'm a bit coffee'd up at the moment....))
