Vintage Bowie Style Knife

Post by BKWhite »

Here is my Vintage Alfred Field & Co. Sheffield Bowie Style knife. It has a Carl Thomas custom sheath that I added a tie down to and a Bandoleer style strap that I designed so the knife could be worn under the arm. I really love this knife. Any one else out there like the old bowie style knives. Have a great day

I'm not packing any Bowies but I do like your knives. It's all I can do to keep my britches up with the Canal Street congress I carry. ::teary_eyes::

A very nice set, BK, especially the Union. I only have 2 or 3 and they're Bark Rivers.

Here's a few:
1st picture top to bottom:
An original Joseph Rodgers spear point(9" blade)with original sheath.
An Outers style by F.A. Bower Germany.
A Fred James horsehead bowie circa 1960.Fred specialized in re-created Bowies and once worked for Wostenholm.
A newly made Silver Stag bowie.
A massive Colt bowie made of cable Damascus(probably in India)
2nd picture top to bottom:
Emil Voos bowie
Edge Brand #448 bowie(virtually identical to the Voos;probably made by the same people)
R.J.Richter bowie. The 1st one I ever got.Handle is offset slightly so it won't dig into your side while carrying.
A Hubertus hunting dagger(displayed with the bowies).
3rd picture.A Chinese knockoff Rambo III style bowie;actually not a bad knife.
4th picture: A Cogswell & Harrison double edge bowie.C&H is a high end London gunsmith shop. This likely dates to pre 1900.I corresponded with them but they had no info.
5th picture:A theatre made double edged bowie marked only LJM.
6th picture:Another massive double edged bowie. This and the preceding one were obtained from the same collection. No clue who made them.
7th picture:Ontario SP10 bowie.Knife is totally black so it doesn't photograph well.
8th picture:Parker-Edwards Damascus bowie(1 of 500 made in 1986 only).
9th and final picture:A bowie fighter designed by Tak Fukuta.

EDIT:One more:A Manhattan Cutlery Co bowie.
