Cattaraugus Fake

Post by Miller Bro's »

This is about as bad as I have ever seen

Everything about this knife is wrong, take a good look at the tang stamp too.

Vintage CATTARAUGUS Fixed BLADE Folding KNIFE Locks in Place

Circa 1900's "UNUSUAL"

Offered for sale is this wonderful vintage Cattaraugus Folding Knife. Made by the Cattaraugus Cutlery Co. Little Valley N.Y. When opened it locks in place, has a thumb release which then unlocks the blade to be folded and closed. Stag handles with arrowhead shield on one side. Measures 8 1/4" long opened, blade is 3 1/2". A few tarnished areas on the blade and on the nickle plated bolsters, otherwise overall good condition. Nice addition to any Knife collection.

Looks like it may have originally had celluloid handles that out-gassed.

I kept looking at it because it reminded me of something. It took me a while but I finally figured out, it looks like a cookie that's suppose to look like a knife. I can't believe people are bidding.___Dave

Yes MB that is one ugly fake. Sadly I have seen knives just like this stamped Winchester as well.
