Lot of Case Knives

Post by just bob »

In this lot of knives look at the Case folding hunter. There are a number of issues that jump at you like the shield, handle material, and jigging, but look at the tang stamp. You can see a faint outline of the stamp and not just the letters. Very sad.

In his description, seller states that he does not think that the folding hunter is a genuine Case XX.
I have no problem with this when the seller is up front with a description of a cobbled up knife.

Yeah I'll agree the folding hunter is not genuine. Problem is the next seller may not be as honest about it.

Exactly! Counterfeit knives should be destroyed, or at least marked as counterfeit in some permenant way ::shrug:: so they cannot be resold to some novice or otherwise unknowing collector. This seller may have honest intentions - like you said, the next owner may not.
