Blade Grind

Post by cbfd »

Has anyone seen this type of blade grind on anything other than Case or this knife? It looks like Case new grind, but doesn`t show very well in my pictures. Bill

cbfd,
I picked up a trapper with the same grind several years ago. It does resemble the Case new grind. I think mine was $6 in an antique shop. Kinda' neat, I think some comment was made here on AAPK about it when I posted a picture of the Imperial. If I remember, the DE is supposed to stand for diamond edge. I believe the tang stamps indicated 1956-88.

If I recall correctly Gerber used that grind on their Folding Sportsman series. Here are a couple of pics of a Gerber Skookum.Notice how tightly the blades fit together.
