Thanks Gino! ::handshake:: I officially have too many knives now and find it hard to figure out which to carry. Trouble is, I don't really have that many number wise, what should I do?

I'm really converted to GEC (after a less than auspicious intitial experience). Although I still love all my Case XX, AG Russell and Lone Wolf Paul knives, GEC has become the exclusive focus of my current collecting obsession.
Here are my latest acquisitions:
Top: 48 Improved Trapper in Smooth Ivory Bone
Bottom: 57 Half-Whittler in Primitive Bone

Thanks, Perry....and, by the way, I'm looking for a Single-Blade 85 Bullet End Jack with Liner Lock, in case anyone has one to sell or trade.

Cheers & Aloha,

Check out this AAPK thread: "Opening Tool: A Call to Inventors Artists & Creative Thinkers" for some really clever ideas on opening those GEC folders with their notoriously nailbreaker pulls/stiff back springs.

Nice knife!

I'll try to cut & Paste. It's too much to type again.

The last week has been a real ride with the #15's. Last Friday I was a few seconds short of getting a TC Barlow. I didn't sweat it since the price was rather high IMO. I did manage to snag a Huckleberry Boy's knife in Antique Yellow and Sheepsfoot blade. Good enough for me. I tracked shipping on it and saw it was going to be delivered on Mon. Wow, that's fast, considering It came all the way across country. I had a few other knives coming the same day and thought this is great.

Got home from work on Mon...sure enough all four knives were in the mailbox. I opened the Case Mini-copperlok first. Real nice. Then the 2 Opinel's I had ordered. Really impressed with the blades for the cost. Now, on to the Huckleberry, whoohoo. Opened the tube with the Copperlok, unrolled the wax paper and...WT...? TC engraved on the large bolster. Yep it was an Antique Tan Jigged bone Barlow. My first thought was "Oops, somebody screwed up big time". There was somebody, somewhere, opening a tube expecting to find a TC Barlow and getting a Huckleberry.

I immediately called the dealer to let them know what happened. Naturally they were a bit disturbed and confused by the mix up. They thanked me for notifying them and put me on hold to check their records. When they came back on they assured me that their inventory of shipments was in order and that I didn't get some one else's knife. They said I could return it or they could adjust my payment. I had to think for a minute if I really wanted to pay that much for the knife. But, it was here and the odds of getting one were very slim. I said do it and hung up.

Then, it occurred to me "What happened to my Huckleberry?". I called back and they checked on the Huckleberry. They still had one in Antique yellow. I knew they were Out of Stock, as well and said "send it". The next day I saw the Nifebrite Boy's knife with Sheepsfoot listed on their site. I liked it and ordered it too. They both came in the same package. So now I have 3 #15's. These are really well made knives. If the TC is overpriced then the Huckleberry Jigged bone is GEC's deal of the year. What a great knife.

Anyway, here they are:
