That's some pretty stag! I don't have a stag one. All mine are red bone.

Thanks Wade and Gino! That is actually Case's carved Bone stag, they did a really good job with it on that knife, it is highly textured and colored just right.
Nice pic of the Spydie Gino, I like the contrast of old and new with the props and the modern folder, very cool.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
With the general bias AAPK seems to have toward traditional knives it surprises me when I read this thread and see so many members carrying "modern" knives. Just an observation.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
Yeah there are some real quality knives being made today I never thought I would carry a modern folder a couple years ago and now I cant get enough of them, the quality ones are just awesome knives. I will always have a huge spot in my heart for my trads but I cant see myself not carrying a newer Spyderco or Benchmade etc...jerryd6818 wrote:With the general bias AAPK seems to have toward traditional knives it surprises me when I read this thread and see so many members carrying "modern" knives. Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
Jerry you made me think back when I started this thread 5 years ago the top two knives were in my pocket and today the bottom is with me, my tastes have certainly changed I guess you could say. I can do a lot more things with the bottom knife as well and that has a big influence on me

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
Gino, the more I see that 710, the more I like it.
Today's carry is this trapper (CPM-154 blades). Just cause I know you like it so much, Jerry.
I think it's because it's hard to beat the quality of modern high-end stainless steels. That's the way it is for me at least. I prefer the look of traditional knives, but I'll take high-end stainless steel over the old stuff any day. That's the main reason I get custom slipjoints. They combine the best of both worlds. If I didn't have my custom knives I'd probably carry only tactical knives.jerryd6818 wrote:With the general bias AAPK seems to have toward traditional knives it surprises me when I read this thread and see so many members carrying "modern" knives. Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
Dave, you're just being mean.
Gino -- It's not that I don't like the modern knives. I have a bucket full or Kershaws (slight exaggeration to make a point) and a sack of Buck modern knives but I don't have any desire to carry one. Every time I think about it my Camillus crawls down into the deepest part of my pocket and won't come out until the impluse goes away. Y'all know I don't cotton to Spydercos, yet just a few minutes ago I came within an RCH of making an offer to you on two of those you've put up for sale. And for me, they have two strikes against them right away.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
I always carry a traditional or three.
But it's just too darn easy to whip out a one hand opener considering the left hand is almost always holding the tape roll or SOMETHING I can't let go of.
Therefor something like this is always clipped in right front pocket!
