W R CASE & SONS GS110 "WHAT WAS ITS PURPOSE???

Post by olderdogs1 »

Need some help determining what this old knife was made for. Nice thin knife, great for 100+ years old.

Thanks, Tom

I'm guessing Tom ,that it's a budding or florist knife? I know little about Case in particular, but that's a very nice spey blade.

M110 in later catalogs...is the pattern # stamped on it GS110? German Silver...that's an older and rarer handle code, only seen it one time before.

Previous poster was correct...a "veterinary" knife...all metal so that it can be put into boiling water to sanitize it.

Yes, GS110 is the stamping. Tom Russell told me German silver as well, your statement confirms it for me. Veterinary knife is something that wasn't my first guess since the ones I have had also had a kind of hook blade as well. Thanks so much for the information. It is much appreciated. ::tu::

Nice knife Waz,very similar knives, seems the budders have a little more robust handle.
