I recently got a metal detector, and found this on my first hunt (less than 2 minutes after turning it on):

Welcome aboard, brefos, and congratulations on that knife find!

Find any thing else good (knives or otherwise) since then?

It is either Boy Scout or Girl Scout, cannot tell from the photo. If that is green I am seeing a hint of in the photo, then I will lean toward the Girl Scout side. The stamp on the tang has important info as to the maker and the shield should ID the user group.

I haven't really been back looking. I'll be hunting next week. I'll let you all know my findings. ::tu:: Wish me luck!

Good luck! If you find something cool (whatever it is) show us a pic in the General Off-Topic forum! I'm sure we'd all love to see it (and there's probably someone around here who collects it!)

Just letting you all know that I went hunting today and didn't find anything worth mentioning. But I'm not giving up just yet.

I'm new to the knife world, but it seems interesting. What is the Holy Grail of knives?
