A little knife mod

Post by singin46 »

Well I did this little job over the last couple weeks, when I had time. I'm going to show several pictures, the first two shots are when I received the knife. As you can see, the knife came with too much black area and way too much white as well. Then the third pic is after me sanding the handle a bit to show separation between the ridges and valleys in the handle and the other pics show after I applied some Potassium Permanganate to it to darken it up a bit. Thanks again for the guidance, Dale! ::tu::

Nice work Perry, the pics really demonstrate the change, big improvement I think. Ironically enough I think it looks more natural now that you have tinkered with it a bit!

Thank you David, Mike and Trevor! ::handshake:: About the easiest mod you can do is to dye stag. All you need is the PP of course, qtips and some rubber gloves.

Perry that's a vast improvement IMO. The end result reminds me a lot of some of that great 60s stag from Case. I like it! ::tu::

Looks pretty damn good Perry--I did the same thing to a Stag Case Muskrat that didn't carry good in the pocket just scrubbed it down till it was smooth you couldn't even tell I did it--

Lyle, I have been singin so much lately that my head is about to explode, its fun to have knives to bring me back to earth! Guess the town missed me over the last 2 years while I was in and out so much! Glad to be at home and hopefully here for a while. Thank you to everyone here and to Dale for pointing me in the right direction. ::handshake::
