Can anyone provide any information about this knife?
I bought it new in the early to mid 70's.
How many were made? Is the number 9297 on the tang a pattern number?

I have one just like it. Only the number is 762. I do believe its a serial number. I have owned a few AG Russell knives and many have serial numbers depending how many were made and with what handle materials and how they were graded. Collectors grade, I think he had an excelsior grade. Each grade hade a limited number of knives made. Just off the top of my head so take the info with a grain of salt! Nice knife though. don't know what the value would be.

I would research it under the A.G. Russell name. I would even contact Russell directly & see if they have some info about the knife.
