Hi from Wisconsin
I just thought I would say hi. I live in NW Wisconsin and have been making knives in the winter. I started with 10" saw blade skinning knives. I made a few dozen saw blade skinners, and a few neck knives. I have played around with kydex and made some sheaths. Last winter I made a wood forge , and flattened out some truck springs knives. I love the spring steel. I have made a 1/2 dozen or more spring steel skinning knives. I guess I have a soft spot for skinning knives.
I also tried making a few rail road spike knives. I just finished building a gas forge, and as soon as it warms up a little I will give it a try. I would like to try building a few folders, but I don't know where to start. So I am going to get a few kits to use for a pattern. I hope to learn more from you all.

Welcome BigJeep from a fellow Wisconsinite... I am in the SE portion of the state myself, about mid way between Milwaukee and Madison... but have brothers that live in the NW part, near Hawkins in Price County. We have a hunting cabin there too and spend much time there in the late fall. What part of the NW are you from?
