I'm firmly convinced that those Buck Bantam knives are some of the most overlooked and underappreciated knives on the market today. You'd be hard pressed to find a better knife for the money.
+1
For a USA made knife, under $20 shipped, the Buck 285 is hard to beat.

$20 is pretty much pocket change. And Academy generally has a selection of Buck.
But on three different knives I have been quite unable to get an edge I like on Buck Knives.

By the way I have nothing on me. But sharp is within reach.

This knife is a favorite edc of mine... bought it to use it heavy and put it through the paces, and have been doing just that. It sees a lot of pocket time at work. It is an all steel Huckleberry Boys Knife, and I really wanted to see how it would age over time, and it is definitely starting to take on that "old knife" look! I had Glenn put on the diamond shield for me, and I think it really gives it just the right "touch of class" without taking away the "working knife" status...

[album][/album]Well gang, I work at a location where weapons are not allowed so I don't carry at work. I think that if I were allowed to carry one or six, it or they would be a combination of:
Benchmade Mini-Griptilian 554 Custom S30V (for boxes and such) [album][/album]
Benchmade Mini-Barrage 585 D2 Assisted Open (also for boxes and such)
Spyderco Delica (With Emerson opener also for boxes and such)
Spyderco Dragonfly (All purpose)
Spyderco Ladybug (Aogami Blue Super Steel) (for tape on packages and letters and the like)
Boker Plus Subcom F (for tape on packages and letters and the like).
However, as I said previously, this is against the rules.

When on my personal time at home or working around the garage and such, I generally carry the following for tough cutting jobs:
Zero Tolerance ZT301 Ranger Green Ast. Folder
or
Benchmade Nitrous Stryker

I also carry a Boker Plus Subcom F for light duty jobs.

Finally, I carry a Case XX Canoe knife, given to me by a dear friend. I use this for standard duty cutting jobs.

I know that seems like a lot to carry 3 knives, but most of the work is done with the Zero Tolerance ZT301 or Benchmade Nitrous Stryker. The Boker Subcom F is really small and only weights 2.5 oz. @ about 2-inches long closed, so it is really easy to forget that you are even carrying the knife. I carry the Case XX Canoe mostly for sentimental reasons and bring it out of my pocket mostly to show to people for conversation.

Most of the knives I have mentioned above are very utilitarian. However, I am a fan of ALL TYPES OF KNIVES and it is a tough choice to say which is my favorite knife. Mostly, I feel that for every job there is a proper tool and that is after all what a knife is, a tool. I guess I really have to say that I like the Benchmade Mini-Griptilian, the Case XX Canoe, the Boker Plus Subcom F, and the Zero Tolerance ZT301 as my top 4. The four mentioned above seem to be the most versatile and useful for the majority of jobs that come my way, at least in regards to folders. I am fortunate to be able to pull whichever knife out of my safe I need to complete a specific task. I expect that many of you are just as fortunate and feel the same way. Thank God we live in a country that allows us the freedom and opportunity to have such choices.

Nothing on me as I have no pockets. Close at hand are a Kershaw Cryo, a Shell handle Imperial Barlow, a Benchmade 350BT and a rescued fixed blade that had a faux stag handle that was toast.

I like this guy late this afternoon.
In my experience, RR'S Acorn sheilded models are the most appealing.
