Knife

Post by Forensic Jim »

Johnnie I don't know. IMO, it looks like a serpentine whittler, with a wharncliff, and a muskrat blade. I know I have to be careful, especially when listing multiple knives in the same day. I've had to cancel a listing a couple of times because of a mistake.
RIP Johnnie Rotten

Looks like a dog leg trapper with non standard blades, a wharncliff, and a muskrat blade.

I wouldn't call that a muskrat, but Frank Buster sure did make some unique patterns eh? I find myself drawn to many of 'em ::drool::

It makes a guy wonder what planet some of these sellers are from.

I got a knife today in the mail, a Schrade Walden 787, (a muskrat with blades on opposite ends) :lol: The seller said;
"Sharde Muskrat !!
I really hope the real collector gets a look at this.Along with just people that like knives. The only reason I say this is one might run because of the pitna on the blades. It rally hurts nothing. It might slow the looks down soem .I think it just shows that it has not been setting on a shelf all these years. The knife apears to have been sharpened onces or twice but it was done with care.No grinders YA!!!!"

#1 Get spell checker! At least learn how to spell the name of the knife you are selling.
#2 Learn how to use punctuation, at least the space bar! ::shrug::
#3 Look at the knife you are selling before making statements about it's condition! ::td::

"The knife apears to have been sharpened onces or twice but it was done with care."
Was it the first or second time that someone re-tipped the secondary blade? I could see that the blade was tipped even in his fuzzy washed out pics. I bought it for the primary blade.

"No grinders YA!!!!"
I guess he doesn't count a belt sander as a grinder. This appears to have been done fairly recently. (not visable in his fuzzy pics)

"The only reason I say this is one might run because of the pitna on the blades. It rally hurts nothing."
I think he was trying to say that patina really doesn't hurt anything. I agree. However this knife had been sanded (not visable in his fuzzy pics), and the dark spots on the blade are the pits in the blade where the sander wouldn't reach. (see my pics below)

Granted I only paid $20, including the shipping, but if I had seen the pitting & sanding on the blades I might have given him $5 for it, provided I didn't have to pay shipping. :)

I guess I need to start reading feedback before I bid. This seller had 1700 feed backs with 99.9% positive, and no negatives in the last year, but he did have several that said; "OK," "it's ok," "everything ok" and a few other positive feed backs that were less than enthusiastic.

The sad thing is I don't feel it is worth the hassle to get into a pissing match with him.
I left positive feedback and said "thanks."
I wonder if I should send him an email and tell him what I really think? ::smack::
