Man I have been working to much. Got behind on all the fine hardware being shown in this thread.

Every birthday I usally pick up a firearm. Wife asks what I want, I say a gun. "Too many guns" she says every time. Is that possible? Same perspective on knives. That is like saying you have too much ammo. Women!!!

Anyway, she always caves in as there is not much else I want or need. Blessed to have her put up with me!
Anyway, been eyeballing another .45 and never had a 1911.
Picked up a nice Springfield Armory 1911-A1 Mil-Spec. She was a bit tight so I got here home and field stripped and oiled her. Smooth as glass now. Got late so no pics yet but here is the factory pic. Identical gun as pictured. Picked up an extra mag and 100 rounds of Winchester 230 grain Hollow Points. Probably will buy about 5 more factory mags to compliment the "kit".

Came with a nice hard case, "Loop" polymer holster and 2 mag holder, 2 mags and cleaning rod, etc.

Regards and Merry Christmas everyone. Jerry

The 1911 has had a spot in my heart since we fam-fired them in boot camp. That one's a beauty Jerry #2.

Nice looking 1911 is that Springfield.

No more shooters around here except for my Moison 7.62x54R cannon bigger that .22

VERY little chance of that being rectified in the remainder of my life.

Thanks Gents, she is a fine firearm.

I took it out to the desert this last weekend to make some noise. My phone camera is not working so I have to get some pis this weekend.
Silhouette at 50 feet. Center mass aim, pull trigger again after recoil drop, so 1 second or less between shots. 3 mags, 7 rounds each, all hit paper with 2 out of the black. With 230 grain balls, any would be devasting even non center hits.

Slim feel and great grip. Nice action, handsome gun.

I am right handed and left eye dominant. Only thing I do as a lefty is shoot a shotgun or rifle. First handgun I ever owned that felt comfortable shooting lefty. No "Ambi" levers so really not pratical for this one but nice to know it does well as a lefty.

Regards, Jerry

Not following you Jerry D. Just pointing out personally besides basic hand use, cannot use a handgun lefty unless I have to. Left eye dominant makes me shoot all long guns lefty, no exception. First pistol that felt good as a lefty is all I am saying. Vague comment but assumed you are responding time my post. ..

I see now I was a bit (whole lot) unclear. I was just trying to say I am grossly right hand dominate and there is only one thing I can do with my left hand.

I too am right handed but left eye dominant. I shoot right handed but have to close my left eye to be able to sight down the barrel of a shotgun or handgun, or see through a scope on a rifle. I think that has a lot to do with the fact that I've never been a great shot with a shotgun.

That left eye dominate thing is pretty common. My best friend has that.

Won't matter to me. No pistols or shotguns around here....

Charlie I got it too, but sometimes the best way to handle a post like that one is to treat it like you would if someone accidentally farted at a funeral. You just pretend to not notice.

Ken,
Not real familiar with that manufacturer. I looked up PMR and it says Kel-tec. They look like they make some interesting firearms. I assume that is a PMR-30? Look forward to your review on the gun. Just looked up the specs and it says 30+1 capacity with flush fit magazine in .22 Magnum. Price looks pretty good also. I normally like to stick to more common catridges but I am tempted at that one.

I don't have any good pics yet, but yesterday I went to my local gun pusher and picked up one I've had on layaway for a little bit.

A JM stamped Marlin model 1894 .44 mag! Woo Hoo Bamby better watch out next year. I have a 1894c (1979 model) .357 mag. This one will compliment it right well. I'm a fan of the 1894 Marlins with their straight stocks, square levers, square bolts, short barrels and light!

Now that I see the price of .44 mag ammo I KNOW I have to get into reloading. As soon as the weather clears I'll get y'all some good pics.

Sounds nice Wade. Look forward to the pics.

Finally got some pics on my new Springfield Amory 1911-A1 Mil-Spec. Man I reall am liking this gun. Not too heavy, not to light. Not much of an SS guy when it comes to guns but I do like the two tone with the "brushed" matte on the countours including top of the slide and the polished flats. No too shiny either. Beautiful gun, slim, shoots very well and just feels like part of your hand when I grip it. This may well be my carry when I get my CCW here pretty quick. Personally like a full size carry myself. In fact now that I think of it all my slide guns are full size.

Also, for all you .45 ACP guys, Winchester makes a .45 round called "WIN 1911" that are shown in the pics. It is a 230 grain hollow point. Normally only see .45 ball ammo in 230 grain. Heaviest .45 HP I personally have ever seen. All the others I usually ever see are 185 grain HP. They cost about 1 dollar per round but I would hate to be on the recieving end of it.

Merry Christmas All. Regards, Jerry
