Here we go again!

There are times in each of our lives that rain falls, hard times come and it helps to reach out to our friends and to our God for a little support. This is the place to express those needs, concerns and situations so others in the AAPK family can keep you in their prayers.

Here we go again!

Post by treefarmer »

Y'all have prayed for my family on several occasions and here I am asking for your prayers again.
It's time for the right hip joint to be replaced :) , the Doc had to replace the left knee in June in order for me to be able to support the new hip ::shrug:: . Had to tell folks I went to the doctor 'cause my hip was aching and he replaced my knee ::uc:: . He assured us today, the hip replacement recovery is a lot easier than the knee rehab and I should be able to be back in the deer woods sometime in late January.
Hospital stay is probably 3 or 4 days, if all goes well.
Please keep Miss Joy and me in your prayers while we go through another hard place. Knowing others are praying for our needs certainly makes the road a lot smoother as we travel along holding on to the Great Physician's Hand.

I am adding you to my prayer list right now Phil!
They told me the hips are much easier than the knees.
I will have to have my right knee done next year, but thank the Lord, no hips yet!

I will keep you & Miss Joy in my prayers Phil.
God will get you through this ASAP! ::tu::

Sounds funny, fix the opposite knee first, but actually your Dr is purty smart ::nod::

While the right hip is healing/recovering, you will favor that side....meaning you will walk, stand,
and generally put more stress on your left side. Having not done things in this order would
have really had you miserable .. .. ... ....

Good Luck and fast recovery. You'll be dancin' the Watusi in no time ::handshake::

Phil, You're on my prayer list. My wife is having her first hip replacement in early Jan. so we just went through the introduction class on what to expect. Her operation will be a constant reminder to be praying for you too. Dave

Cuz, we may not hear from him until he gets out of the hospital (He said 3 or 4 days, barring complications.) (and rehab? He didn't mention that but they do it with knees.). I don't recall him ever saying anything about a tablet or smart-phone. ::shrug::

Howdy Boys! I have a new hip, they put it in yesterday afternoon. Waiting on the therapy people to come by and stand me up. So far so good, thanks for the prayers! Miss Joy brought her lap top so I could check things out. Don't have any idea about going home yet, supposed to be quicker than the knee job back in June.
Y'all have a great day.

That's funny Josh. I had a similar experience. I went in for what I thought was to be brain surgery. Ended up getting hemorrhoid surgery. True story.

A guy goes into the hospital with a very, very bad leg. The doctor examines him and tells him that the leg has to come off. The next day he has the surgery and the doctor comes in and tells him he has good news and bad news. The guy says give me the bad news first. The doctor tells him that they removed the good leg by mistake. OH MY GOD!! the man says. What could possibly be the good news? The doctor says, "The bad leg is getting better"!! ::dang:: ::dang::

Get well soon Phil ::tu:: ::tu::
