Kentucky Fried Chicken Commercial on TV

Has anyone noticed the KFC commercial on TV where in an office setting, some one yells "She's got a knife" and there's general mass hysteria, until its discovered she is using a plastic knife and fork to eat her chicken dinner. I don't know about you guys, but it seems that this kind of advertising is working up the public against knives like they are something evil. It seems anymore a lot of people have the idea that if you carry a knife in public your" armed and dangerous!" I just get tired of TV's negative image of knives.

I was in a store the other day picking up a package, the guy behind the counter told me to open it on the spot to make sure everything was in there. so i took out my small trapper and zipped the tape off. The lady standing next to him said to me, "You dont have to use THAT!". Then everyone looked at me like i had just pulled a ninja sword out of my boot. I just gave them the "LOOK", and went on about my business. You are right about brainwashing the general public, sad thing is it seems to be working

We have become a watered down image of what we once were here in America. I have experienced the same hysteria when using a knife in public.

Hmm...the first time I saw that ad I thought the same thing. Another ad that makes the person having a knife look like some kind of terrorist or criminal. Children are taught to fear a knife and anyone having one. When I was young I carried a knife so I could whittle, open boxes, etc. Times have changed. I don't take out my knife in front of anyone anymore. I never know what reaction it will cause.

I have made it a point to only carry slippies in public or a small gerber framelock, the clip sticking out of your pocket or belt sheath always attracts unwanted attention and looks . The media is the sheeple's shepard

I don't seem to have the problem carrying it that you folks do.
I frequently carry an assisted opener or even an automatic. If it is a bigger knife I leave the clip on the outside of my pocket so it isn't concealed, (as per local ordinances).
I guess a crippled old guy walking with a cane isn't perceived as a threat.

I always have a couple of large sized knives on me at work but if I

have to open a box or a package to inspect the contents in front of some

of the Sheeple there, I usually use this knife. For some reason, SAK's

seem like cute little knives to these people.

YES!
If there had been lots of passengers carrying pocket knives on the 9-11 flights it might have turned out differently. As it was a few unarmed brave men went against 4 guys with box cutters and were able to keep them from doing what they had intended to do.

actually, the fact that people get all worked up , if i take out my knife,makes me want to do it all the more. . I guess i have never been one to care what anyone,who doesnt know me, thinks of me.
