can someone help with this cherokee knife?

A buddy of mine has asked me to get a little info on this knife. He said that it was given to him by his father some years ago. The only info that I can dig up, is that it was made in china, using soligen steel. He would like to know about when it was made, and about what its worth in monetary value. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Tim

Based on one SOLD sale on ebay the knife is probably worth $10.00

The date stamped on the blade indicates the dates of the Walking Liberty Half Dollar.

The half dollar included is currently valued at $5.59 (melt value) because of the silver content.

COOL KNIFE

I "THINK" IT IS FROM THE 1990's.....AND WAS ONE OF THOSE PARKER OR FROST MADE KNIVES ,THEY STILL USE THE cherokee NAME ......... I WOULD "BET" ,MOST WERE SOLD ON THOSE TV INFO-MERCIAL TYPE LATE NITE SHOWS......

Scott, Junebug, thanks for the replies. As I said, this knife was given to my buddy many years ago by his father. He recently moved from north carolina to here in west virginia and rediscovered it in the move. He knows nothing about knives and thought maybe I could give him some insight. I appreciate the info, Tim
