Some 2006 GEC Unserialized Knives

Post by Hukk »

At first, like most I thought that the Chocolate Bone in the 23 pattern was the only unserialized knife that was made in 2006. Much to my surprise and delight I was able to get 4 more 73 models. Here they are:

They are all 2006 unserialized on the bolster and the spey blade is not etched. Yes, I'll be cleaning knives in the morning.

I suspect there will be a few here and there popping up.

I feel very lucky and fortunate. I have a complete set for myself including the Casein, transitions, and acrylics and I have a set for my son except the casein, acrylics, and anything unserialized.

The unserialized Chocolate bone was known and I just stumbled into the others. I have a copy of the packing lists that shows GEC shipped these out to different dealers. Who knows, there is likely some other 2006 knives out there unserialized, but those are the RARE OF THE RARE. ::ds:: ::ds::

I just kept asking questions and stumbled into some 2006 knives without serial numbers, I believe there is only 1 to 5 of each. So, some could be 1 of 1. ::ds::

Thanks Jim. I would have to guess these are over runs, but they do not have the etched spey blade that a serialized knife would have. So anything without a serial number would be after #250 was made is supposed to be unserialized, no etch. As I look at the numbers GEC released some of these add up to less than 250 and some add up to more. ::shrug::

I don't know anymore, was officially 1465 knives with the 2006 stamping. Here is a link to the final numbers from GEC, I finally found it, I didn't realize it was already at the bottom of page 8.

I do see 1 mistake here, in the Tidioute #23, the Primative Bone with 30 is actually a #73 Tidioute and they are etched on the spey blade with 1-36, so there were 36. I don't think there were any 2006 Primative Bone #23 Tidioute's made until the 2006/2007 Primative Bone Transition knives.
