EDC rotation??

Post by EricKy »

How many of you folks rotate your edc? I've always carried just one pocket knife and a Buck 110. I never really thought about rotating pocket knives. Sounds like a good practice. I usually carry a knife for about 6 or 7 years than replace it just to carry a new knife. So how of you rotate??

I am afraid I must say that I like rotating my knives, and have trouble calling any one an EDC. I rotate between about twenty folders and 6-7 fixed blades. The only one that goes with me most every day is a David Winston that is on my keys.

I'll carry different ones just for the fact I've got a few that I like and want to carry them all. So one day it may be this one or that one...

I usually have a Chris Bostwick custom folder and I may bring others depending on mood. An inexpensive Spyderco Native was reccommended to me by El Lobo (ole Bill  ) and you can't get a better knife for about $36.00 (Walmart price). The attraction was the CPM S30V steel. I have a few more knives with that steel and I believe it's the best stainless steel made.

I am with you Johnnie.
I have a lot of knives to carry. Some I bought to carry, like my new Kershaw Needs Work. Others I bought used & figure I am not loosing a lot of money by carrying a nice old knife. Still others I have had & carried for so many years I sort of forgot when I got them.

I believe a knife is a tool, so I carry them & use them. I love to go in & look through my knives to see which ones I will carry today. Sometimes I like a certain knife & will carry it for several weeks before changing, though I will change the other knife(s) I carry with it. I even have a couple hawkbills that I carry only when doing yard work.
I have 3 or 4 sets of keys, that each have a knife on them that doesn't change very often.

Here are some of the ones I EDC. I have added probably 10-15 since this was taken.

::ds:: Dale,
Beautifully put! "A knife is a tool and I carry them and use them". Rotating your EDCs means you never get bored with any of them and there is always that 'must have' knife just around the corner, in case you do.

I just bought and wanted to use this knife for a EDC.

I am having fun with her showing her off.

She came with the crack in the scales so I thought it might be fun using her.

People look at me when I pull her out like I am some kind of people slasher. (a weapon)...
The girls all back up some...

I would like to show her off on my school bus... 8)
That would keep the bus quite until they got to the principal's office.

Ken,

For $21.49, that was a pretty good deal! ::tu::

Maybe you can shave on the bus to make an impression?

Here is one that gets used most every day, even if I don't really carry it. Maybe an EDU? ::shrug::

To me that handle looks like the dreaded Sandbar Stag.
