Camillus Streamline restoration
This is a Camillus Streamline that I restored.
I got the knife without handles or shield, as the celluloid had been removed before it could do a lot of damage, however the shield was missing so I had to come up with a replacement it actually looks a little better than the one Camillus used on these knives.
I took the knife apart, cleaned it up really well and put on RJ B jigged bone.
The blades appear to be full-length and have great snap, though there are some scratches on the blades and I did leave some of the patina on the blade.
It would never pass for a new knife but it's a whole lot better than when I started on it without any handles.
I love the full Sabre ground clip blade! I'm very tempted to put this one in my pocket, although I probably put it in my store instead.
I was pleased with the results.
Enjoy the pictures.

Beautiful knife, another master piece. Camillus should've used bone handles on the stream line. Every stream line I have ever owned, the skins gassed out or they curled real bad at the bolsters.

I think Culpeppers RJB is my favorite and that shield really sets it off. Good stuff Maynard.

Re: Camillus Streamline restoration
Thanks guys.
I love the sabre ground blade and the deep etch on these blades.
The problem is that most of them are eaten up by the gassing of the celluloid.
It often takes me 3 or 4 knives to put together one complete Streamline.
I think this is the first one I have done from a single knife without donor parts.
I am glad you like it.

That's a great, beautiful restore, Dale. Glad to see it "business as usual".

Re: Camillus Streamline restoration
My apologies, I forgot to post pictures of the tang stamps.
This is a Sword Brand, which was the top-of-the-line knife for Camillus. Because the Streamline knives were made in the 1930s they have the four-line Camillus Tang stamp.

I love that jigging on the bone, Dale! Another humdinger...
Ya know, I got a couple of those Streamlines waiting for a new jacket. I do believe you have inspired me.
Excellent work, my friend.

Wow that's purdy stuff Dale
I love those Streamlines. Don't see them often. I have seen two in life and I bought both of them. One I got on the cheep.. $5.00 the other I think I coughed up about $30.00.
Hey Dale if you decide to sell I may be interested. It sure would be at home in my pocket!
