I have no gun sense, except to be safe.....but I just had my ebay listing ended because this little beast is a pinfire gun.....I had no clue there was such a thing!!!

Scott, Here's another little pin fire. I bought this as a kid through an ad out of an issue of Dad's Field & Stream magazine back in the 1950's. The barrel is 9/16" long, made in Germany. It came with little pin fire shells, thinking back they now remind me of a #9 percussion cap with a pin in the side . Don't remember any projectiles in the little pin fire round, never did order additional rounds after shooting the ones that came with the little gun.
The bore diameter is about 1/16" or .062", the chamber diameter measurement is 3/32" or .093" and has a depth of 5/32" or .156"
Thinking back on this, it's a small miracle that this thing is still around. I remember taking it to school and not getting in trouble. Back then lots of us young boys would have any empty shotgun shell or empty rifle brass attached as a zipper pull on our winter coats. Wonder if that would fly today?

Just bought a Browning Auto-5 Light Twelve, 26" IMP today (made in 1982, about 95%) - been looking for one of these in nice, huntable shape. I'll get a decent photo tomorrow during daylight. OH

Good looking A5 there! I had a '58 model that I had traded around and had $50 in. I loved that gun. But the siren song of a '57-'58 Marlin 336SC .35 rem sung to me and I made a trade. I'd live to have another one too.

Thanks guys, this one sort of fills in my collection - better picture taken outside yesterday. I am off this coming Thursday to deer hunt; I will put this Browning in my truck then and try it out during lunchtime. Upon close examination I don't think it has hardly been used - the metal is 99% - only the long scratch on the buttstock detracts from the gun - but it will be a field gun so the scratch won't hurt in the long run. OH

I sold and traded so many old guns when I was young that are now worth wads of money, it almost makes me feel sick. I remember a Win. 92, 32-20, saddle ring carbine that i traded for a ...? I could go on .

Tis the time to start thinking about what I might want to put on my Christmas list...

I would be grateful for any thoughts / opinions / experience related to this Weatherby LazerGuard rifle that Cabela's is selling. I am looking for something traditional to complement tactical rifles. The folks that are commenting in the Cabela's seem to like the fit & finish plus the accuracy.

Jerry, The Weatherby Vanguard rifles are built on a special order Howa 1500 action for Weatherby. They improved the trigger and safety several years ago - most folks have always considered the 1500 to be a lot of rifle for the money. Smith & Wesson imported their own version, the S&W 1500 a couple of decades ago, and the ones I have handled appear to be well made. A friend of mine has hunted with the Howa 1500 version (simplified compared to the Weatherby) for seven or so years now - he's never had an issue. I don't see how you could go wrong - a time proven, well built, barreled action, nicely stocked and backed by Weatherby. OH

Camillus,mine like that ol single shot. My brother has a singlet shot H&R Topper Deluxe .410 with the chromed frame that daddy gave him when he was born. (I got the Ithaca 66 20 gauge).

That ol Ztopper Deluxe of his is a mighty fine .410. He's taken lots of rabbits with it too. That thing shoots Ike a .22, real tight pattern that'll carry a lot farther than the experts claim a .410 should.

Well I spoiled myself today,
50th Anniversary Ruger 10/22 with Mannlicher Walnut Stock
Distributors Edition / very sweet looking rifle.
1964-2014 on receiver; 50th Anniversary lasered on action.
Came with two magazines, base mount for scope and lock.
Basket weave design on stock is amazing.
Great mag release!

Edit: Ted -- Mmmm Daddy want. I only covet two rifles. An M1-A and one of those Ruger 10-22s with the Mannlicher stock.

Nice Ruger Camillus - you deserve it! I've always liked the basketweave style checkering on a rifle (got a Winchester M88 with that style on it). OH
Ps Check out the Redfield Revolution riflescopes - I've bought two of them since they came out a few years ago. They are USA made by Leupold now in Oregon, lifetime warranty; I've got a 2-7x33 on a Ruger 44 MAG Carbine. I got my last one (a 3-9x40) at Dunham's - with a Veterans Day coupon last year - it was $149.00 out the door.
