My wife likes to go with me to the flea market.
She is pretty good at spotting knives for me. She will call or text me the row and table that has the knives.
Sometimes she will stand there and make sure I get there to see the knife before someone else gets it.
She really gets into it and has developed a pretty good eye!![]()
Every now & then she will buy some knives because she likes them or for me to sell for her at the show.
She is still learning but she does pretty good!

Re: My latest Schrade
I picked up a Schrade Uncle Henry that I had somehow overlooked in my collection.
It is model #706, called the Gentleman Jim. This one has been used and has scratches on the blades, but it will do until I find one in better condition.
The 706 was made from 1985 to 1988 and is 2 3/4 inches in length.
I am not sure why, but I've always had a soft spot for single spring pin knives.

Lovely 512ot Keith. They are super rare, and i have only ever seen one on Ebay.
I has a handy chunk on one a few weeks back, but sadly came second....hate that.

If you want a stainless sharpfinger, all of them in the last year or so of production were stainless anyway, although they did not have SCHRADE+ stamp. There probably were no 1095 steel knives coming out of the factory. If you are chasing after a numeral or character stamped into a knife, then that is a different matter. Now I could be wrong about my first assertion; I would welcome any comments on that. Snowing here this A.M.; good day to collect knives.Schradenut wrote:Lovely 512ot Keith. Re: My latest Schrade
I posted this over at the "edc favorite" topic but here seems appropriate too.
Got this 61OT from that big auction place. I always liked the #69 Camillus's
and knew I wanted a Schrade in that pattern. If I am correct I believe that these were made from 1976 to 1990.
These 61's are hard to come by and they are quite pricey in my experience.
This one has scratches on all the blades but they are tight and full. All 3 blades snap nicely with no wobble.
This 61OT was listed as a "lock back" by the seller. I almost missed it in my searching because of that description.
The price at $25 shipped, was to me, allright.
I held my breath waiting for it hoping there was no play or other serious problems as there was no description in the listing.
I would love to get another now!
Thanks for looking, Harold

The 61OT is my favorite Schrade stockman pattern. I have one I got in the 1980s.

Great pick up Producer! I have been keeping my eyes open for one of those for quite some time, and have not been able to find one for a fair price. I would say at 25 bucks shipped you got quite a good deal! I would have scooped it up too.
I've seen ones in condition similar to yours go for twice that easily.

Thanks for the comment Dale.
313Mike, So it isn't just me having a hard time finding a 61OT?
I'm convinced the "lock-back" in the brief description threw would be buyers off.
It was offered as a "Buy Now" option [$25] and I got lucky!

Re: My latest Schrade
Is the Schrade 861 the same pattern as the Schrade 61OT, just older?

The 861 is the Open Stock version of the same pattern. The pattern from which the 61OT was taken.
The 861 was made from 1946 to 1973. It was a Schrade Cut Co pattern carried over by Schrade Walden.
The 61OT was made from 1976 to 1990 which explains why it is much harder to find than an 8OT. The 8OT was made from 1960 to 2004.

Re: My latest Schrade
Thanks Dale. As you know (but may not remember) I have a bone handle 861 that's missing the shield (Hint. Hint.) I'm not a fan of the saw cut handles so I won't be searching for a 61OT.

Re: My latest Schrade
My latest find, long known around here as the "Slendereeno" pattern, a term coined by a respected member. It is unused, and I've been working at getting stains off of the blades, without scratching the original glazing, from some hairy material that was left on the blades for a long time.
So Far picture.
Before picture.
You can still see red "color stamped shield", which was done on the original versions of this Razor Blade Stainless knives with the PAT PENDING etch. This is such a great pattern, and a nice 3 9/16". Razor sharp, with resounding snap to the blades and grooved bolsters. It is the same slim stockman knife as the Uncle Henry 897UH pattern.
The "Razor Blade Stainless" promotion appeared in 1964.
