Newest Case Pick-Ups

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Sweet find, jerryd. I was looking in one of the Voyles books and he said the Case Bradford tang stamped canoes are priced similar to the Case Tested stamped knives, FYI.

Larry, love that muskrat bladed trapper! ::tu::

The 'coating' bit just sounds gimmicky to me. Since it is unlikely anyone will

The whole thing sounds gimmicky to me. IMHO

Now something that's not gimmicky, as I posted in the Mail Call thread the Colonel (Old Hunter) claims he doesn't like Wharncliffe blades so he was kind enough to sell this Copperhead Trapper to me. My search is finally over. I'm just as tickled as a stuffer in a feather bed plant. As you can see, it's a 2006 6249W CV.

Why do they need a test run on a 54 pattern Trapper at this point - they have made them for years and sold tens of thousands of them?? I agree, it's a gimmick! OH

I think they're testing the "blued blade" process. Bear & Son has been doing blued blades for some time now, others as well. I guess Case is testing the market and their process. Wish it was cheaper, I'd get 2; one to collect and one to use. $85 delivered.

Arrived today. 7-dot 31SAB. In great shape, not used up.
Gator snap and half-stops. Left handle pin looks like it's pushed to the mark side, and
the secondary blade well is wonky ::shrug::

Nothing that I'm gonna fuss over. It'll be in my pocket ASAP. ::nod::

2231 1/2 SAB one of my personal favorites!! I EDC'd a six dot when I was in high school.

Paid $6.60 for it new from a Case wholesaler.

I used to carry one of these also, until I showed it to a friend and he just had to have it. So I gave it to him. I love the strong spring action of these '31s. They are definitely one tough knife!

Here's one that I just bought off of Ebay. CASE XX (1940-64) 31 SAB. Appears to have the factory edge. It's got a couple of rust spots on it but it should clean up nicely.
