....the Camillus made Remington knives on this site. Or perhaps I should say I don't notice much conversation about them. Are they considered of "inferior" quality....or not really "collectable"....or just not an "interesting" line of knives? I can certainly understand the lack of interest in the hideous orange and red "rimfire" line of late....but the older Camillus made ones seem to be fairly well made. Or am I just too easily impressed with something other than abalone, mother of pearl or sambar stag?

Now....before some of you go off on me, this is a serious quesion and I'm not trying to ruffle anyone's feathers here. Just an honest question looking for an honest answer. O.K.?

Only my opinion...because you posed the question.

There is nothing wrong with Delrin, especially on a work knife. For my money, the Camillus made Remington knives would be nice users. BUT, they are not Remingtons, nor are they constructed like the beautiful old Remingtons, and after the first few reproductions (which were pretty cool and in fairly small numbers), the market was then flooded with boring knives, in massive numbers.

I totally agree with what you're saying about the Delrin. I've got a couple of the special edition Camillus made Remingtons with real bone and there's no comparison. I've personally never held one of the genuine old Remington (VERY HIGH DOLLAR!) knives, but I hope to someday get the chance. Thanks for your honest opinion. Most appreciated.
