my shop
Hello all; You all have such nice shops and tools! Me, I guess I am a shade tree
mechanic. With a bad right wheel, I prefer to sit down to work!
Here are some pictures of where I do most of my work, I do have a shop as well
but I use it only when needed.
Thanks
Phin

Re: my shop
Nice looking setup Phin. Are those solid tree trunk benches? They look awesome. Looks like you have quite an inspiring view to help you with your work.

Re: my shop
What a view. I don't think I'd get anything done if I had that to look at.
I like your "benches".

Hi All........ Yes they are solid oak trunks. And the view helps me when I
get frustrated and talking to myself, at least I can say I am talking to a bird or
a lizard!

Re: my shop
It's nice to have a compact work area where everything is within arms reach.
The chair looks comfortable, if my chair was that comfortable I would probably take a nap.
Johnnie Fain had a very compact shop that was portable.
He had a large plastic cutting board, with a clamp on vise and a stiddy I made for him bolted to it.
He set in his easy chair and worked on knives. His laptop was there with him too.
Johnnie had COPD and couldn't get up and move around a lot, but his little shop and his easy chair was all he needed to do knife work.
It's not the size of the shop that matters, it's the patience, determination and ability of the craftsman.

Re: my shop
Phin - nice compact shop. Real nice spacious view!
I like having cats, so that I can pretend that I am talking to them when
the wife or daughter hears me talking to myself.

Re: my shop
Hi All..........Thanks for the kind remarks! Next year I will see if I can get my ankle fixed.
Stem cells have come a long way and work for cartilage regeneration. Then I can work in
my real shop. Will keep this one for taking knives apart and putting new handles on.
Thanks again
