That sneaky little bugger from Alabama (ROYAL) done flanked me and dropped a big'un into my position.

At first I thought he was just trying to dispose of his excess grocery sacks.

But then I started digging around in all those plastic bags and discovered..... A knife and a knife maintenance kit.

The knife is a Bear MGC lockback that operates as smooth as butter.

A new brass brush which I need to replace the one that's wore out.
A couple of shop towels? Place mats? Cloth napkins? I'm going to use them as background for knife pictures and what ever else that suits my fancy.
A razor strop. Which side do you use first? The leather or the cloth?

A big ol' 9"x6" chunk of "very fine" Scotch-Brite® pad.

And lastly, something that every knife guy should have; a jug of 3-IN-ONE OIL

I almost forgot. The Bear had a bright new penny stuck under the clip.

Been thinkin' for awhile, just had to wait for Mr Marine to post the right hints

The reds are just shop towels, cheap 'uns at that.
On the strop, use the canvas to 'sharpen', the leather to 'polish'. Depends on the blade steel, you'll
just have to experiment. I keep mine hanging by the back door, ready to hit a lick anytime.

Don't let the plastic knife fool 'ya. I have the 3-3/4" version that I abuse at work

That's a great package you put together there Royal. You can tell it was assembled by a knifer, for a knifer. As for the "plastic knife" as you call it, that devil is slicker'n snot on a door knob. I'm not usually very handy with the one handed opening knives (except for Kershaw SpeedSafe® and the Spyderco hole) but this big fella was easy from the first flick. I sat there last night, watching TV (one of my big TV nights) and played with it. You know the drill. Open, close. Open, close. Didn't make my thumb sore or nothing.

I got a bomb in my mail box yesterday from the Mad Bomber of Wisconsin.

A NIB Irish Imperial Schrade Zytel handled Stockman, #AP26.
And a couple USMC hat pins!
I will add them to my collection, and believe it or not, they are both ones I didn't have!

Be careful what you say on AAPK. I recently made the innocent comment that the "Richards Lamppost" is my favorite tang stamp (and it is). Yesterday I get a package in the mail from Canada. I had not ordered anything and especially not from Canada. Turns out it's a bomb from Lawrence. (how did he ever get it across the border) In the package were three Richards pocketknives of various sizes and all in pretty decent condition.

Lawrence, I love 'em. They're just really great knives, all the way from that tiny little 1-7/8" fob knife up to the 3-1/8" Jack with the half-stops. I think I'll leave them lay here on my desk for a month or thereabouts so I can fondle them.

From Rockford IL to the shores of Lake Ontario, a big old Maple Leaf thank you my friend. Very generous of you. Aren't AAPK members great?
