Members of All About Pocket Knives

To all of you who knew Roger 50/2050. I am Laura his wife my precious Roger passed away this morning. He had a heart attack. I know that he had a lot of friends in this site. He really enjoyed talking to you all and being helpful when he could. He loved collecting and talking about knives. Roger was a special person. I want to thank you all for being a part of something that he loved so much. Don't think I am crazy but I have to sign his name with mine.

Hello Laura,

My heart goes out to you. Roger was a great man. We will miss him very much. May God be with you, family and friends through these trying times.

I am glad that I had the oportunity to share a common interest and build a friendship with him. I learned a lot from Roger. He has left a lasting impression on this knifer friend.

Dearest Laura,

My heart is so heavy to learn of this passing. He was very kind to me and we even swapped knives in the past. Please know that all of us hear appreciated his thoughts on knives and his general good nature. It is so sad to learn that one of our own has passed on. PLEASE keep in touch with me. I am sure that I and many others would be willing to help you in any way possible. Thank you for letting us know.

I always enjoyed Roger's post and respected his knowledge, he will be sorely missed but never forgotten. May he rest in peace, for I know he is now with the Prince Of Peace.

Laura; Although I don't know you, I feel like your husband was my

friend and a very Good man! He would always take the time to answer

someones question, no mattter how trivial it was. I am very sorry for

Roger was most certainly a very big part of AAPK. His style, humor, and knowledge...along with his willingness to share with everyone...will certainly be missed by all of us here.

Laura, I too never met Roger personally, but I wish I had. Not only was he so very knowledgeable, he was always so kind and curtious in his posts. He will be missed here greatly. My prayers go out to you and your family in your time of need. Take comfort in knowing he is in a far better place than we are. Kelley

I am truly sorry for your loss. I have had the pleasure of knowing Roger for only a short time, and was always appreciative with his willingness to give me advice when I needed it. He will truly be missed.

I just read the news, what a shock!

I know Roger was a believer in our Lord Jesus, and he is with the Lord. Laura I haven't the words, Roger will be sorely missed.......................

Laura,

I understand that words only ring an empty echo of how Roger affected each of us in our own way but let these words ring out to the world on how Roger was perceived in this world.

We individualy are affected by those around us but the beautiful thing is to hear the harmony of affection and appreciation for Roger. He affected each of us differently with his words of wisdom but he got our respect and friendship for who he was deep inside.

He will be sorely missed and thought of and I for one look forward to seeing him soon at the great feast with our Lord.

Roger was not only my "knifer friend", he was also my Brother in Christ. God must have needed a "Special Angel", so He called him home. I will miss him a lot.
Laura, if there is EVER anything I can do for you, please give me a call. You and your Family are most definitely in a lot of prayers.

Laura, I only knew Roger for a short while but when we did talk, I always felt he was a good friend and enjoyed his vast knowledge and more so his willingness to share. He will be greatly missed by myself and many others. My prayers and thoughts are with you, sincerely Mike Cloud.

Laura,

We send our heartfelt condolences with this news of Roger’s sudden passing.

Even though I have never met Roger in person I feel like he was a good friend. As we probably live only 20 minutes apart I will probably always beat myself up over that one.

I would like to relate a small story that I have told many times and probably will many times again before my life is said and done.

When I first started selling my deceased brother-in-law’s knife collection one of my first customers was, ribbedbumpers, aka Gary Baker. I had a question about a certain knife and he said I should join the Case Classics Club and get with a member that he thought was also from Texas by the name of Roger. Well, Roger and I started an email conversation about the knife in question and found out we lived very close to each other. I thought it was so cute that he was called me “old pard”. One Sunday he sent an email wanting to know if I wanted to meet up with him and check out the local pawn shops for knives and tools. At this point I realized he thought I was a man. When I informed him he was a little embarrassed I think, apologized, but there was no need to. He treated me no different before or after he found out I was not a man. I only regret at this point that I did not take him up on cruising the local pawn shops.

We will keep you in our prayers during this difficult time.

This little community that exists only in cyberspace, is a real community none the less. We will miss Roger too. We are all richer for having known him & having him as part of our community. We are poorer with his passing.

Here are the last words he spoke to me in PM.

"Hello Ken,

I haven't heard anything from them, not one word! ....Why don't you try & write them also, mabe if they get more than one letter they will respond? ....If I hear anything from them I will contact you right away, OK?

My job is not done and I will still work to get what he wanted.
