You are right Steve, that would be fun!
My big concern is that the blade looks short.
I am not a Case guy and don't know the pattern, but how much short is the blade?

It's the 2 big gouges in the back side of the blade that scare me. Don't know how pretty you could make that without welding and welding scares me even more.

no way that gouge closest to the edge would come all the way out without narrowing the blade significantly or welding which would still be visible and not reccomended. price seems pretty high for the condition IMO.

While I think my welding guy is good enough to handle his part, I share the concern about the blade possibly being too short and also think it's over-priced for it's condition. One picture with the blade in the closed position might have been enough to change my mind.

I asked if they would show a picture of the knife in the closed position because it looked a bit short. Their reply was "about 1/4 short" which I guess means about 1/4". Too bad. Wish I had a blade for it.
