Daves new book is quit interesting and very well written. For those new to collecting that has an interest in collecting the old timers or would like to know more about cutlery history or for the seasoned collector, this book is a MUST READ. Surprising and interesting facts fill this book, from the inception of many knife companies, not just Tidioute companies, to the merger, acquisition and demise of many important cutlery companies that have contributed so much to the history of cutlery in America. I have to admit that this is one of the best reference books to collecting that I have ever came across, although I do not think it was intended that way exactly, I have a feeling that many, many people will be referencing this book for years to come. The history of some of the lesser known companies is brought into the light due to their relationship to Tidioute, and speaking of relationships the cutlery business was very much something of a family affair as noted throughout the book. I don’t want to rehash what Dave has so eloquently put in the book so like the Nike commercial…just do it. three thumbs up P.S. I have read the book cover to cover, despite alot of drool on the some of the photos.
