Caution on Buyer

I purchased pre-82 on Figh't Rooster 2 Blade Gunstock off ebay

Knife described as never been used. I specifically asked the buyer on conditon of bolster and blades and his response to me was unused and never carried. The reason I asked was the image was a little blurry and the knife looked like it might have some scratching. Hard to tell for sure! I won the knife. Now, the knife is actually pretty nice and cost $51. The knife did not accurately describe the knife especially since I did question the seller on specifics. Not trying to be an rear end here but in posting feedback I said "just a few more light scratches than expected. I would buy again! The seller responded to me "Doesn't even contact me before leaving feedback" and blocked my buying from him. The blocking parts is fine because I no longer trust this sellers description. I asked the guy a question today and his response was as follows:"well i guess everybody has an opinion--these knives are all "used"--as soon as they leave the factory--most are older--which mean someone has handled them----if you expect 'NEW--i guess you should go to the factory...your right--you got a super deal--and still had a complaint--dont bid here again--i will block your bid---"

So basically have I done something wrong here. I did not look very far but did notice one guy say "nice but not SUPER NICE" in his feedback on the buyer.

The purchase happened a little over two months ago. I was looking at another item from the seller (because of my previous purchase from him) and decided to check out his feedback. I found his response to my feedback and questioned him on it.

Probably should have said caution on seller!

Well, that is unless I've made some sort of mistake in handling this.

You can also respond to the feedback that the seller left. I may be wrong, someone correct me, but I believe you have 90 days or if the auction is still viewable, you can respond to his feedback. He has 16 negatives, that says something about the seller.

I simply wanted to know why he was stopping me from bidding. He has been a jerk from the first response and I've been a jerk right back. Sort of childish on my part. Sorry!

I don't know how he has not gotten more negative based on his attitude. He does try to squash any neutral or negatives. I guess he is perfect and none of those negative/neutrals have any basis in fact.

Personally and only my 2 cents as a seller is you can clearly see the scratches in the photo. If you were not happy did you want to return it and would he take it back? If it were me and I were happy and kept it I would have left positive feedback. I don't like the middle of the road feedback. Either you are happy or you are not. You can pick a knife apart and then some, any of them. None are perfect. I would suggest making sure about return policy before you bid and if you cannot return it for a full refund including shipping don't bid on their stuff.

Caveat Emptor

"Let the buyer beware": the principle that the seller of a product cannot be held responsible for its quality unless it is guaranteed in a warranty.

Handshake deals rarely exhist anymore, unfortunately. Present company excluded, of course.

I thought they looked like scratches, that is the reason I contacted the seller. I seen other bad photos with what looked like scratches and they turned out not to be.

I purchased quite a few knives off Ebay. This is actually the first one that did not come in as described. It still thought I got a fair deal on the knife though. I just don't think the seller accurately answered the questions asked of him. It might be middle of the road feedback but I thought it fair to the seller and a signal to others to simply look closer at his offerings. If I were to have given him positive feedback it would have required me to ignore his answers to questions. I also did not feel it necessary to contact the seller after the purchase because it concerned question asked prior to the purchase. In my feedback I simply gave him a neutral feedback and noted there "Just a few more light scratches on the bolster than expected. I would by again!"

Again, he don't want me bidding and I'm fine with that.

I have bought 2 knives from this same seller and each time he described them as never used or sharpened..The last one, I wrote and asked him if he considered the knife to be in mint condition and his answer was yes...It was definitely not in MINT condition...Hell,not even close!!

The first one I received I gave him positive feedback because I got a smoking deal and I thought maybe he just overlooked the flaws..The second,I gave him neutral feedback.. I haven't and won't buy from him again!!

This guy is definitely on my BLACK list!!!

PS: I have never gave anyone a negative feedback and I probably never will, reason being,I feel thats the risk you take from buying anything sight unseen...I just put them down on my personal Black list.
