thanks tkc, thats the only toe nail in my collection right now. i am quite fond of them tho and hope to add more sometime. ideally i would love to get a hold of one of the old case red bone toe nails, but they are quite expensive...lol.
anyway, this is getting to be a really long thread, but theres alot of great looking knives to enjoy. i thought i would add one more of my favorites. this one is an older case 1965-69 cigar pattern 62055 with red bone handles. i also have the 22055 pattern in slick black 40-64. i really like these cigar patterns....to me, they just have that look of an ol timey classic. anyway, here it is.

thats a gorgeous whittler and one of my most favorite patterns also! heres mine, its a 1973 red bone balloon whittler 6383.

I dont have a picture of it yet, but my favorite knife is a 1979-1980 transition one dot and ten dot, bone handled congress. Nexy would have to be a 1979 Cheetah in mint condition. My favorite carry knife is an old Keen Kutter my dad used to carry. And I have an old Case XX stockman that belonged to my papaw.

Here are my favourites so far. The MOP and the old stag are Harrison Bros Sheffield. The yellow celluloid is Shrade Cut co. I hope they are of interest.

hey, those are some great looking knives! i was out today visiting the local flea market and came across a nice old case whittler. i managed to do a little trading and picked this little baby up. its a 1971 case xx red bone big whittler 6380 and i have to say that i am really pleased with this knife.....and just had to add it to my list of favorites. anyway, here it is.

I just took this picture while documenting some knives. I also liked both MOSSDANCER'S and Jim's idea of a group photo.

It is a mini collection, within my rather "rudderless" collection. It is sort of about how different makers/embellishers/manufacturers treat handle materials.
There is bone, horn, pearl, composite, and of course, the center row (top to bottom) is stag.

Lots of very nice knives in this thread.

That is great group photo. From the perspective of a new collector, I like the detail of a close-up shot of a single knife also.'Rudderless' is a good descriptor of my collecting strategy at the moment. I hope you will continue to share your collection with us. Thanks.

My collection is pretty 'rudderless' as well, although now that I think about it, I've gathered a couple toothpicks together... Maybe I'll have to put a label on myself and say "Now I collect toothpicks."
I'll get my collection together for a group shot tonight.

That's a really nice one!
Here's one of my favorite knives, of which I happen to have a scanned photo.
Nothing too fancy, it's a Case trapper in chestnut bone with CV blades. Made and purchased in 2000.
Edited to add a pic of a second knife, a new Queen toothpick with cocobolo scales.

Alexander I love the handles on that chestnut bone, there is just something about bone (smooth or jigged) that is appealing..

If I ever get to your neighborhood I most definitely am going to look you up to see your "WHOLE" collection, I don't believe there is an end to it...

I have been wanting to get a Hobo knife for some time now, been looking at a few patterns!

hey great looking knives everyone. i am enjoying seeing all the variety. i agree with you sunburst, that chesnut bone is one of my most favorite of the newer bone handles. i got my father in law a chesnut bone eisenhower for christmas and he loved it.

anyway, heres one of the few case stockmans i own. mostly my collection is made up of two blade knives, so this is a rarity in my collection. its a 1979 case stockman 6347hp with bone handles that show alot of color to them. i have a couple more with this color bone handle and although im more partial to the older red bones, this adds a touch of variety to my collection which i enjoy.

anyway, great knives everyone and hope to see more.

Here is a knife I picked up a few years ago because...because...hmmmm, I guess because I didn't already have one.

Anyway, it looks like it was made for Parker by Bear (late 80s, early 90s?).

Saddlehorn style Trapper...with a razor instead of a spey blade.

I don't have many case knives but here are two pics of one of my favourites... a 1997 redbone 6207. I especially like how it goes from rather lighter in the top left to deep cherry red on the right. Pics don't quite do it justice
