Case,NKCA Museum Founders Elephant Toe question.
NKCA Museum Founders Elephant #349L is the knife and I was wondering what the" L "stands for in the serial #.
I know it is 1 of 2600 and it is knife # 349L but what does the L stand for in the serial #.

I could have sworn I ran across these knives in one of my books, looked in a few last night with no success. Glad you found some info.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

There were 2600 total sets made. If NKCA life members wanted their member # engraved instead of a serialzed, they had to speak up during the preorder. So the total number of sets made is still 2600.

Now, find out which Life Member ordered that knife.
If it was Rhett Stidham, you've hit paydirt.

Who is he.
This one is a keeper, it is my favorite pattern and I have all the other app bone handle Case knives from that period. I would like to find the rest from that set, the Fight'en Rooster being my favorite.
I have most of the Rose bone from that period but still need,I think,2 patterns that I don't have.
Thanks for the information.

Rhett Stidham is a deceased knife collector, dealer, authority whose name is now being used by an individual to sell thousands of items on Ebay, apparently even though some were never connected to Rhett.
I was making a semi-sick joke.
I know where a complete set of the Museum Founders Knives resides.

Got you,lol.
Thanks Mr Noyes, for the information. Now I just need to come up with the cash to grab them up.
I would like to tell you that most of the information I got on the Case App and Rose bone knives came from your book. It is very well written and is full of good information on all things Case. Thank you.

Thanks, but I don't know Case from Shinola. I'm a Robeson man.
You must be thinking of somebody else, probably Steve Pfeiffer, author of Collecting Case Knives: Identification and Price Guide .
