Newest Case Pick-Ups

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

You are just killin' me, jlw257 :) !
Wow, another great one ::drool:: ::drool::, what a beautiful old Trapper!
A friend called me this morning after church and said there are some Case knives on TV, channel such and such, Watched for a few minutes and I told my wife, "The older, practical knives are the most beautiful that have been made." They showed so many different color variations and handle materials that are made strictly for collecting market, that I really appreciate knives like this Tested Trapper! Even if it were in rough shape, it would be a great knife because it is real!
Now, while I'm crawlin' down off my soap box let me say, I would use one of those fancy dinosaur bone handled things if I needed a knife and would expect it to take an edge like all the ol time Case's do. ::mdm::

Keep 'em coming, jlw257 ::tu:: ! This about the only way I'll get to see such great knives, they're way out of my reach unless I run across one at a yard sale  . According to my limited research, there are several dollars worth of knives in that picture of the Tested Trappers. The 5375 ain't too shabby either ::dang:: . Great knives, if I had one it would have to be sealed in a waterproof display because of: ::drool:: ::drool:: ::drool:: !

Larry,
What's the history on the 91 pattern? What is the length of that "purty" thing? Called a large whittler in an old book. It's not listed in Knifeaholic's book, must be a rare bird.

TF
The 91s are 4 1/2 " long. Someone else will have to tell us the history on the Big Whittler. I'm looking at a Bradford period 5391 right now. One thing I have found out is that most XX 5391 are Red Stag. Larry
